We thought this was imperative for all of you to learn about and prepare
for. So please feel free to forward this to your friends, family and
co-workers.
If you see the above photo on your computer screen - it
is TOO LATE and you are ALREADY INFECTED - IMMEDIATELY unplug any backup
devices (and probably your network connection wouldn't hurt)!!! There IS NO
RECOVERY at this point! Unless you have a backup of your files - this also
effects network connections to other computers and backup devices. Please read
this entirely and visit the link at the bottom for details.
"Just last month, antivirus companies discovered a
new ransomware known as
'CRYPTOLOCKER'"- Please be sure you keep backups of your computer system
and personal files - your personal files are in extreme danger of never being
retrieved if you get this nasty virus. Cryptolocker is now considered to be the
most destructive virus out there and there IS NO RECOVERING from this once
you've become infected. You WILL lose your files if you do not prepare yourself
by making backups and following some simple instructions.
Folks this is nothing to mess with - make SURE you
are up to date with your anti-virus definitions and use malware removal in
ADDITION to your anti-virus programs. You CAN protect yourself using these
tools. Malwarebytes.org Anti-malware (the PRO version will prevent this, the
free only notifies you of infection and by then its too late). If you make
backups (or even windwos restore points) back up your files and be SURE to
DISCONNECT those external backup devices from your computer and network to
prevent infection. For those of you that are on a network shared with other
computers in your office, please note that if one computer on your network gets
infected, it will move to that shared drive and infect those files, ensuring
those files destruction and unavailability to other users on the network. One
computer can cause major damage!
